The Creative Brand
Why the most interesting brands are building cultures, not just products.

Product advantage now has a shelf life measured in months. Cultural advantage — a voice, a taste, a set of people who want to be seen with you — is far harder to replicate and far harder to lose.
Creative brands invest in the things that look inefficient on a spreadsheet: art direction, editorial, casting, restraint. Those are exactly the things a competitor cannot buy off a shelf.
The question is no longer what you sell. It is what someone is signalling when they choose you.
“A category can be copied. A culture cannot.”
